Many thanks to Rachel Field, Headteacher and her school, Ashfield Infant & Nursery in Workington, for our glowing nomination (see extract below) that lead to Safe Haven Consulting and the training we provide, being recognised at national level. It was a privilege to attend this wonderful event and have our training acknowledged - together, with all of you, we are making a difference to safeguarding children and young people in Cumbria.

Safe Haven Consulting thanks all our schools and Cumbrian clients for their continued support which made this national training acknowledgement possible.

"Safe Haven Consulting have been providing outstanding safeguarding training to schools and providers throughout our area for several years.

In my opinion, children in our county are undoubtedly safer due to their commitment, passion and determination to raise awareness.

I was privileged to attend a safeguarding conference organised by Safe Haven Consulting.

This extraordinary event brought together leading professionals in the field of child protection; the opportunity to hear speakers of such calibre is a rare thing due to our relatively isolated location in Cumbria – Safe Haven Consulting are trailblazers for safeguarding children in the northwest in that they are passionate about providing access to the most current guidance and practise, that would otherwise be inaccessible to us.

What makes Safe Haven so deserving as nominees is that unlike most training providers, Safe Haven Consulting offer support that goes far beyond the training room. There have been more than several occasions throughout my time as a school leader when I have been unable to access support or advice – Safe Haven are always at the end of the phone or email and never fail to return a call.

It is a very challenging time in which to be a head teacher, and at times the responsibility can appear overwhelming – Safe Haven never fail to offer practical, timely and non-judgemental support that can make a real difference to our day to day experience of safeguarding children.

In summary therefore, I wish to nominate Safe Haven Consulting for their outstanding work. I can think of few providers who offer their unique blend of expertise and personal support through their training and consultancy."

Course Endorsement – Cumbria LSCB Newsletter (April 2017)

Congratulations to Safe Haven Consulting on becoming the first agency to receive course endorsement from the LSCB.

"The endorsement process has enabled Safe Haven Consulting to develop a positive working relationship with Cumbria LSCB. We now have effective links in place to share key information quickly which we can then reflect in our training.

Jeanette & Diane welcomed the opportunity to be the first safeguarding training provider to be endorsed by Cumbria LSCB and to pilot the process with them. Our letter of endorsement recognises that our training meets the required standards which hopefully others can follow.

The quality of safeguarding training we provide to schools and the organisations we support is key to our service. We are delighted that the training we deliver has been recognised and endorsed by Cumbria LSCB".

Jeanette & Diane, Directors of Safe Haven Consulting.

Safeguarding Training for Governors and Safeguarding Teams

This strategic training helps governors to understand the breadth of their safeguarding responsibilities in line with Ofsted and Keeping Children Safe in Education Sept 2016 requirements. Governors are welcome to attend with their Designated Safeguarding Lead or member of their safeguarding team, as there will be an opportunity to review school practice and identify next steps.

All Governors/Safeguarding Teams welcome.

This new training is ideal for consortium bookings where local governors and safeguarding teams can be trained together (minimum numbers applies)
